Kọ Cafe (Ko Cafe)

Such nice vibe and the staff is very friendly. Got their iced matcha with oat milk and it was really good. I love the African print inspiration and art. They have good WiFi and sitting ranging from bar seats to tables to sofas. Perfect for coworking. You can also book the space for podcasts, shoots etc.

I visited Ko Cafe in Jersey City for the first time on Thursday, March 7, 2024, for the Book Haven Books Silent Book Club Meetup. Since I had not been to an area of Jersey City outside of Journal Square for a long time, I decided to arrive at least an hour earlier. The park across the street is one I first saw more than five years ago. The service was beyond excellent. The staff were very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The coffees were super delicious and the cornbread meat pie is truly the star of the menu. I love how spacious it is, and there is plenty of seating. Of course, I loved the library of books already in the cafe, as well as all of the African art and other assorted African items. I think I saw at least one or two items made using Kente cloth. There is a strong community/home vibe in the cafe. I was treated more like a friend than as a customer, and Tara, the owner of Book Haven Books looked very happy to have partnered with Ko Cafe for this Silent Book Club Meetup. I look forward to returning, as soon as I can.

Such a gem of a neighborhood coffee shop! Cozy, welcoming, and full of good vibes. The food is flavorful with a delicious African twist, and the coffee menu is outstanding — the iced Caribbean and lavender coffees are a must-try! The décor is fabulous and makes the whole place feel special. Can’t recommend it enough — this will definitely be my new neighborhood spot! And the staff is super friendly and welcoming.

This place is vibey af! There's plenty of seating, a standard cafe drink menu, and decent food options (salads, baked goods, yogurt parfaits). Just make sure you push the door hard when you're trying to enter. I swear it's not locked.

Great place for a wfh change of scenery. Staff is friendly and helpful. Tasty iced matcha. Also enjoyed the playlist while I was there.

My favorite coffee spot in JC. The decor is like no other coffee shop. Super cool, great energy, and wonderful staff. Big shout out to Ray for making the best matchas for me. Smoothies are delicious, coffee is great. The owner is always smiling and friendly. You have to try! Go to Ko!

Love this place! From great coffee and pastries to amazing vibes, one of the best spots on Grand Street. Very happy to have these guys in the neighborhood.

Absolutely love this spot! The decor is stunning, with a modern yet cozy feel, and the attention to detail is unmatched. You can also book the space for events, meetings, or creative projects like podcasts or photoshoots – so versatile. Highly recommend stopping by.
